Library Card Sign-Up Month by Kari Denison

Hello City of Lewistown & Fergus County!  As residents you are entitled to a free library card at the Lewistown Public Library.  That’s right . . .  a FREE library card!

Anyone who is a resident of Lewistown or Fergus County can get a library card.  With a library card, patrons can check out books, audiobooks, DVDs, hotspots, laptops and magazines.  A library card also gives patrons access to our online collections of eBooks, books, audiobooks, and a huge magazine collection.

The Lewistown Public Library has a wide variety of materials and genres to checkout for all ages.  Using a public library offers a sense of community and can also allow folks to save money on entertainment and educational materials with the ease of checking out instead of purchasing.

Our library also offers services for patrons including reader’s advisory, youth storytimes, humanities programs, writing groups and senior outreach.  The Central Montana Genealogy Inc. Society is also housed in the library and provides genealogy research.  Reference and historical queries are accepted at the front desk.

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and it is the perfect time to drop in the library at 701 West Main Street and apply for a library card.  Please bring your current photo ID and proof of address to apply.  Kids, please bring in your parents to get signed up.  The process is quick and simple.

Library Card Sign-up Month is sponsored by the American Library Association.  For more information on how to get a library card visit our website at lewistownlibrary.org or call and ask a librarian at 538-5212.  We are here ready to serve our community!

See you at the Library!
