The Friends of the Library, who work so hard to make The Book Station possible, are celebrating their 10th Anniversay today with a tent sale and cake.
“Friends” work tirelessly to take the books donated to the Library, sort them, shelve them and sell them as an ongoing fundraiser for the Library. The monies earned from the sales help the Library upgrade furnishings, technology, send staff for training and much more.
The Book Station makes used books affordable and accessible for all. Recently they added an additional sales opportunity on the 2nd Wednesday of each month so that the Council on Aging could offer bus rides to our local senior citizens who would not otherwise have access on the usual Saturday sale.
The Lewistown Public Library is very grateful for the hard work and dedication shown by the volunteers of The Friends of the Library and The Book Station. They provide much needed funding for things that would otherwise not be viable.
