Free SAT/ACT Prep and Online Courses through the MTLibrary2Go | Alissa Wolenetz, Director

For the next year, anyone with one of our library cards will have access to free SAT/ACT test prep and online courses through the MTLibrary2Go! The Montana State Library has purchased a year-long subscription to these services with ARPA funds.

All libraries that pay to be part of the MTLibrary2Go have access to these services. The Lewistown Public Library is a subscriber, and we can create free cards for anyone who lives within Fergus County.

As long as you have your card number, you can log into the MTLibrary2Go anywhere with internet access. Tablet and phone users can download the Libby app. Computer users don’t have to download anything. They can log in with their card number at https://libbyapp.com/welcome and go from there.

Test Prep

Test prep for the SAT and ACT can be wildly expensive, so I’m so very excited that kids with cards can now access high-quality test prep materials from Method Test Prep for free. (For context, an individual course for Method Test Prep costs $249.) These courses include full-length practice tests, lessons, quizzes, vocabulary practice, and tips for increasing scores.

The Great Courses

Have you ever wanted to learn more about botany? Business? Health? You can learn about these topics and many more through The Great Courses. Usually these classes are $30-$50 a pop, but with your library card you can access hundreds for free. (I’m looking forward to “Cooking across the Ages,” “The World’s Greatest Geological Wonders,” and “The Botanist’s Eye: Identifying the Plants around You.”)

Universal Class

You also have access to over 500 classes through Universal Class! A year-long subscription usually costs $189, but with your library card you can learn how to use Microsoft 10, take a class on cake decorating, learn how to budget for a small business, or get tips on training your dog for free.

I hope you enjoy these services! Winter is the perfect time to learn something new and prepare for the future. Your local library is here to help you along the way! Drop in or give us a call if you have questions about how to use any of our services.
