Brittney Uecker

I grew up in Billings, MT, and spent nine years in Missoula before moving to Lewistown in February 2019. I received my BA and MA in Forensic and Biological Anthropology at the University of Montana and worked in wildlife genetics before starting my career in librarianship.

As Youth Services Librarian, my goal is to foster literacy, creativity, and imagination in the children of Lewistown through engagement in reading, writing, and play. I facilitate youth programming such as Story Time, the Summer Reading Program, and Writing Club, and help youth patrons find books that both entertain and educate them.

As a lifelong reader and writer, my memories of exploring the library and expressing my creativity through reading and writing stories are ones I greatly cherish, and I hope to bring those same experiences to LPL patrons.

When I’m not at the library, I am chasing around my two crazy kids, Chloe and Elliot, running many miles to train for marathons, reading and writing fiction, listening to podcasts, and drinking lots of coffee.
