Summer Reading Program WEEK 4 – Tuesday, June 25 – Saturday, June 29
Summer Reading Program Week 4 is right around the corner. “A Universe of Stories” continues to engage youth and adults this summer with reading challenges, tasks and offers programs, presentations and social opportunities.
Summer Reading finale foreshadow . . . participants will enjoy an extra special program finale this year. “Muppets From Space” will show at the Judith Theatre on Saturday, July 13 at 11 a.m. This event is a free, family friendly event for all Summer Reading Participants.
Summer Reading is out of the world at the Lewistown Public Library! Drop by the Library at 701 West Main and sign up anytime during the six-week program to take advantage of the Library’s free reading program.
Walking Book Club
Tuesday, June 25 at 12 p.m.: Adult participants meet in the upstairs meeting room ready to talk a walk and discuss chapters 11-15 of “Bring Jade Home” by Michelle Caffrey.
NASA @ My Library
Tuesday, June 25 at 1 p.m.: NASA @ My Library “Yarn Ball Solar System” for Middles (ages 6 – 12). The group will discuss facts about our solar system and its planets, then create yarn ball planets that will be hung from the ceiling in the Youth Area.
Wednesday Writers
Wednesday, June 26 at 4 p.m. Wednesday Writers for Teens (ages 13 – 18) will focus on dialogue and interactions and discuss how to craft the dialogue and interactions between characters in a way that makes them realistic and gets the reader invested in their relationships.
Solar Scopes with Lynn Powers
Thursday, June 27 at 1 p.m. for Middles (ages 6 – 12) and Teens (ages 13 – 18). Lynn Powers is a Solar System Ambassador and member of the Montana Astronomical Society from Bozeman. Lynn will present and demonstrate solarscopes.
Solar Systems Presentation
Thursday, June 27 at 6 p.m. for Adult participants. Lynn Powers; MSU – Bozeman Solar System Ambassador will present on the solar system in the Library upstairs meeting room.
Storytime
Friday, June 28 at 10:30 a.m. Littles (ages 0 – 5). The 3-5 year olds will enjoy “8 Little Planets” by Chris Ferrie and craft moon rocks in the Youth Area and the 0 -3 year olds listen to a short story, sing songs and play in the upstairs meeting room.
Drop-In Craft
Saturday, June 29 Littles’ (ages 0 – 5) craft is moon rocks in the Youth Area from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult or caretaker.
